If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis, do not wait for a therapy appointment. Seek immediate help by contacting emergency services or specialized hotlines. 

Immediate Danger/Medical Emergencies

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, has attempted suicide, or is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, the following resources should be used immediately:

  • Call 911 or your local emergency number.

  • Go to the nearest emergency room

Crisis Hotlines and Support Resources

For mental health, substance use, or emotional distress crises that are not immediately life-threatening, these resources offer free, confidential support 24/7: 

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 anytime for support with suicidal thoughts, mental health crises, or substance use concerns. You can also chat online.

    • For Veterans, dial 988 and then press 1, or text 838255.

    • For TTY users, use your preferred relay service or dial 711 then 988.

  • Crisis Text Line: Text "HOME" to 741741 from anywhere in the U.S. to connect with a trained crisis counselor via text message.

  • SAMHSA National Helpline: Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357) for referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community resources for mental health and substance use disorders.

  • National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text "START" to 800-799-7233.

  • National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN): 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or chat online.

  • The Trevor Project (LGBTQ+ youth support): 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678-678.

  • Disaster Distress Helpline: Call or text 1-800-985-5990 for emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters.

  • Crisis Support Services of Nevada (CSSNV): The local provider for 988, offering chat and connecting people to care.

  • Nevada Warmline: Text CARE to 839863 for peer support (not for acute crises).
