Yes. I accept select insurance plans through Headway.
If you'd like to use insurance, we can first determine whether your plan is covered and what your estimated cost per session will be. Your actual cost will depend on your individual insurance plan, deductible, copay, and other benefits.
You are also welcome to work with me privately without using insurance.
-
IMy private-pay rate is $75 for a 60-minute session.
I also offer sliding-scale sessions through Open Path Collective, ranging from $40–$70. You choose the rate.
For clients using insurance through Headway, your cost will depend on your individual plan and benefits.

No. You can choose to pay privately even if you have insurance.
For some people, using insurance makes therapy considerably less expensive. Others prefer the simplicity and privacy of paying directly. We can look at the options and you can decide what makes the most sense for you.
-
All sessions are remote.
Most clients meet with me by video, but private-pay clients also have the option of audio-only sessions. Some people simply feel more comfortable talking without a camera, and that's perfectly fine.
You can meet from home, your office, or wherever you have a comfortable and private space to talk.

60 minutes.

We'll talk. I'll want to understand a little about you, what's happening in your life, and what brought you to therapy. But you don't need to arrive with an agenda or know exactly what you want to work on.
People sometimes tell me, “I don't know where to start.”
My answer is usually: start in the middle.
Like a good novel, therapy doesn't have to begin at the beginning. Start with whatever is happening now. It's all cyclical anyway.
We'll get back to the beginning eventually.
-
My approach is conversational, relational, and curious.
I'm less interested in putting you into a category than understanding how you experience your life — your relationships, patterns, choices, fears, contradictions, and the things that keep showing up.
Sometimes therapy means changing something. Sometimes it means understanding something differently. Usually it's a little of both.
-
Most people begin by meeting weekly.
That isn't a rule. As things develop, we can talk about what frequency makes sense for you.
-
Yes. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order to cover therapy.
A diagnosis is part of the administrative and billing process when using insurance. It doesn't change how I see you or how I approach our work together. Therapy remains a conversation between two people, not a conversation between a diagnosis and a treatment manual.
If you'd rather not use insurance, private-pay therapy does not depend on insurance coverage or its requirements.
-
You can schedule a session directly or contact me with any questions.
If you're interested in using insurance, let me know and we can determine whether your plan is covered before getting started.
You don't need to have everything figured out first. Sometimes not knowing is a pretty good place to begin.

That's exactly who I want you to be. No rules. No performance.
